[German]I just booted a virtual machine with a Windows 10 Insider Preview installed and a new build 16296 has been offered in Fast Ring for PCs. The last build 16294 has been released just two days ago.
The new build 16296 has been announced by Dona Sarkar a few hours ago within Windows Blog. The build just contains minor bug fixes, no new features.
Currently the new build is downloading on my VM, let’s see, if there are install issues. Here are the bug fixes, Microsoft reported:
- Microsoft fixed an issue where Hyper-V couldn’t create a VM on 3rd party network storage.
- An issue, where for the first few minutes after clean installing a non-English build many inbox app names might unexpectedly appear with English app names, has also been fixed.
- Microsoft fixed also an issue where gaming apps using WebView with heavy use of HTML canvas might have unexpectedly had very low FPS in recent flights.
Currently I haven’t read about issues in this Insider build. But its important to note, that it’s not possible to install new (additional) language packs on this build. Pre-existing language packs (language packs you’ve installed previously) will carry over and work just fine.
Just a tip: If you are unable to upgrade an existing installation, my blogging colleagues from German site deskmodder.de has created some ISO install files from the ESD downloads. So in case, you are in need of an ISO install image, head over to this site and grab the appropriate ISO download. You don’t need to worry, that those images are infected with malware – I know the team, they provide this service for insiders that failed with upgrading a machine. I’m using their images also from time to time to install Insider flights (in those many cases, where Microsoft failed to deliver a glitch free and installable version of a new Insider Preview).
